Report: Over 3,000 Displaced Families Affected by Rains in 5 Governorates
Rain and floods cause damage to displacement camps (Executive Unit)

Heavy rains and floods in several Yemeni provinces have caused material losses and affected more than 3,000 families.

A report by the Executive Unit revealed that the heavy rains that fell in Seiyun, Al Mukalla and Al Abr caused damage to about 800 displaced families, while damage assessment is still ongoing.

According to the report, heavy rains due to the low pressure system in Hadramawt Governorate during this period resulted in floods that affected the governorate in general and the displaced camps in particular.

The Executive Unit’s delegates in the Seiyun and Al Mukalla districts monitored the camps (Marimah, Madudah, Hawsh Al Eidaroos, Boish) as well as light and medium rains that fell on Al Abr district on Friday evening (Al Gharn Al Shamali camp).

Al Jawf Governorate

Heavy rains also fell on Al Ryan district, Khabb Al Sha’af directorate – Al Jawf Governorate on Friday evening, causing damage to Al Gharn Al Shamali camp. The number of families affected by the rains and floods is initially estimated at 1,700 families, or about 9,100 individuals.

Shabwah Governorate

In Shabwah Governorate, specifically in Bihan district, heavy rains fell, leading to floods that affected the displaced camps. The Executive Unit in Shabwah Governorate monitored the damage to 30 families as a result of these rains and floods.

Abyan Governorate

In Abyan Governorate, the Executive Unit monitored the damage to the displaced camps in Zinjibar directorate, Al Tamisi camp, where 458 families were affected by the rains and floods. Monitoring and evaluating the damage is still ongoing.

Aldale’e Governorate

In Aldale’e Governorate, the Executive Unit monitored the damage to 50 families as a result of the rains and floods that fell as a result of this low pressure system. The following table shows the extent of the damage caused by the rains, floods and winds at the site, in addition to the number of families.
